    Indian Fashion Designer Rixi and Tinka Bhatia the brainchild of Half Full Curve were pretty much the talk of the town with their remarkable show.

    A collection which embraced all shapes and sizes and more importantly, proved that age is just a number. In keeping with the theme of inclusiveness for the summer resort edition of Lakme Fashion Week, saw the much-awaited Half Full Curve showcase.

    While plus-size fashion is a relatively new concept from Indian designers, this label managed to knock it right out of the ballpark with this one.

    Founded by sisters Rixi and Tinka Bhatia, the clothing brand was a long time coming. Tinka, a proudly curvy woman, introduces herself as the “bigger half of the brand”.

    She and her sister are here for the clothes – to dress more than 70% Indian women who struggle to find the right fit. At Lakme Fashion Week Spring-Summer 2018, the curvy brand opened to a full house.

    Bodacious models, as young as 19 and as old as 80, took to the ramp.  There were no floating dresses or anti-fits. Even the self-effacing black shift – an ASOS favorite – was given a rest.

    Instead, the color was introduced in the form of pastel asymmetrical dresses and feminine embroideries.

    The silhouettes played to every curvy woman’s right to look sexy. Shoulder-baring outfits advocated that, as did flattering dhoti-style pants and cowl kurtas.

    For too long, fashion has royally ignored the gaping need of the plus-size segment.
