    Step 1

    Begin by tucking in the sari from a little beyond your navel, towards the right side of your waist and continue tucking it in all around, taking one round around your body, bringing it to your left hip, almost one and half times around your body.

    Step 2

    Make a broad box pleat in front. A box pleat is a broad pleat with folds on the right. This pleat will end at your right leg

    Step 3

    Make sure the bottom of the box pleat is level with the ground and tuck it in.

    Step 4

    Hold with both your hands and flatten the front of your sari.

    Step 5

    Form a box pleat.

    Step 6

    Hold the pallu at both ends and pleat it. Then clip the pallu using clothes clips and put it on your left shoulder.

    Step 7

    Now set the front of your sari such that it touches the ground.

    Step 8

    This is how the pleats should look at your back.

    Now undo the clips from the front pleats and pin the pallu at your left shoulder. Pull the right border of the pallu over your chest and tuck it in at your right hip.


    Step 10

    Now undo the clips from your pallu and pick up the right corner of the end of the pallu. You can tie an ornate key ring to this corner and bring it to the front.

    Flip it over the right shoulder.

    Set your front pleats in place and now you are the ready fashionista!
